The Altria family of companies strives to make its careers website (www.cantbeattheexperience.com) accessible to all users.  This includes people with disabilities.  We have been utilizing standards defined by Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI) as our guide and have been working to accommodate the broadest cross section of disabled job seekers.   In addition, we have been working to improve the way our careers website responds to “site readers” for the visually impaired.

Enhancements to the “Can’t Beat the Experience” website include:

• An organized tab order of each page to accommodate the site reader navigation.
• An “alternate text” tag of each image and graphic element has been refined to provide a richer description to the site readers.
• The video player on the site has been adjusted to allow for full screen playback for the visually impaired.
• The site has been inspected for optical issues such as low contrast text and flashing imagery.
